The above CAD print is of one channel of our eight channel, 4 band, equalizer.
The equalizer is all class A circuitry based heavily on the equalizer in our GTQ2... an equalizer on steroids if you will!
The equaliser has provision for input and output transformers and would use these in the stereo 19" x 1U version. The eight channel unit (19" x 4U) is designed to interface with our GTP8 eight channel mic amplifier and, in this format, provides eight channels of great sounding mic pre and DI amplifier with 4 band EQ in just 6U of rack space. The GTP8 can operate at any gain between -15dB and +85dB so can be used as a line level equalizer.
The eight channel rack can be made with transformers and output stage but the cost of these components is such that the price involved makes the GTP8 the more sensible, facilities wise, choice.
As can be seen from the picture, the inductor based mids (I'm a traditionalist... no gyrators for me!) have three Q settings and the high/low frequency controls have two degrees of cut/boost... a normal of > +/- 16dB or a gentler +/- 8dB for finer adjustments. All the pots are center-detent.
Illuminated push-buttons select EQ and High Pass and Low Pass filters, the latter only operating if the EQ button is also pressed.
The eight channel unit has 1/4" TRS connections that connect to the insert jacks on the GTP8. You can NOT use these unbalanced low level jacks with a normal patch system. For the fully balanced, line level version, a second row of jack sockets is used, one for inputs and the other for outputs.
The stereo unit uses regular XLR's for the input and output connections.
I will try to post photos as soon as possible.
